I would like to welcome everyone to the very first edition of Cat Claws Weekly at panthersreader.today.com!

Please check back here at least weekly, as the offseason looks to be a busy one for the Carolina Panthers. The closer to draft day we get, the more news that will be available on here.

I plan on covering topics such as offseason news and player transactions within the Panthers organization, draft prospects, draft day, mini camps, OTA’s (organized team activities), training camp updates, pre-game analysis, post-game analysis, and some of my own planned Panthers trips and experiences!

I will have more articles coming very soon, so put this link in your favorites, and I look forward to having you as a reader!

Nice work!! I think Julius Peppers is selfish and a bit crazy. I am all for a player getting paid what he is worth, and wanting to win, but this isn’t like Tony Gonzalez wanting out of KC to win. The Panthers are coming off a successful season, and he is limiting the team’s chances to improve. I don’t think another team should deal for him, because he isn’t worth 16+ million a year.

Hey Section233, thank you for the read and comment.

I agree that Peppers should get paid what he’s worth. Peppers is worth 8 million AT BEST for this lone season. Anyone can argue that he had the best season of his career in 2008, but come on; wouldn’t anyone in their contract year play a little harder? Of course he did well!

But people seem to forget the games where Pep didn’t show up. The loss to the Cardinals, the loss to the Vikings, the loss to the Giants, and the loss to the Buccaneers. Aside from those four no-show games, Peppers had a few outstanding games, and the rest were good games; nothing spectacular.

The Panthers will have to do something soon. Worst case scenario, trade him for less. There’s no team in its’ right mind that’s going to give the Panthers two first round picks for Peppers.
